Megan Johnson is from a small town in Upstate New York. Art has been her passion since she can remember. She first aspired to be a graphic designer, but quickly realized after a year that she was not a fan of using the computer to create art, at least at this point in her life. When she switched over to Painting as her Studio Art emphasis, she decided to incorporate a graphic design-like quality to her paintings. It started with painting stencils and triptychs (one image on three different panels), and progressed to images with clean simple line work. She believes the cleanliness of lines is very important in her style of painting because that is what really makes the paintings "pop." Color choice is also an important factor. She wants each painting she creates to give off a certain mood to the viewer without having to explain the mood she was going for. In the end, she wants to create edgy, fun wall art that people enjoy looking at everytime they walk into the room.
